Health Assured reveal UK employee mental health and wellbeing 2020 research
2020 was a challenging year for many people across the UK. On the 31st January 2020, the first two cases of coronavirus in the UK were confirmed and by 23rd March, the Prime Minister announced a UK-wide lockdown.
Christmas is over. The New Year is in full flow. We’ve all enjoyed our holiday, but now it’s time to knuckle down and get back to the grind. The thought of being back to work for eight hours a day, after time off, can bring many people down. January is often deemed as one of the most depressing working months of the year, even if you love your job, so a certain post-holiday blues is common.
Data from the UK's leading health and wellbeing provider, Health Assured has revealed the number of people calling for support for depression on their EAP (employee assistance programme) helpline increased by 31% in June compared to May this year. In June, the helpline received an additional 249 calls regarding the illness.
