Belfast Metropolitan College is the largest Further and Higher Education College in Northern Ireland and is one of only thirty colleges in the UK to join the influential Collab Group. An innovative new approach to raising awareness of the potential of digital technology has been launched at Girdwood Community Hub (@bfastmet @digiskillsagency @bytesproject)
The Tech Connects programme offers free training to young people living in Belfast to develop digital skills and to raise awareness of ICT career pathways. It will encourage young people to choose relevant subjects and skills that are required to work in the rapidly expanding technology and digital sector in Northern Ireland. The programme is funded through Belfast City Council’s PEACE IV Action Plan.
Belfast Met (@BfastMet) is delighted to be the first Further Education College in Northern Ireland to be part of the Washington Ireland Program (WIP). Kelly Welsh and Jonathan Forbes who are studying their BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in Business have been selected to participate on this prestigious programme which has rigorous selection criteria.
The Erasmus+ funded Bridges Work Based Learning project will create a bespoke forum and network to provide employer engagement and a blended CPD programme with digital resources. This will support vocational education and training providers as well as professionals in improving work-based learning through more effective employer engagement.
