Former Brecon Beacons College student heads back to class, in a new role as a college lecturer

Romina West, a Business Lecturer @NPTCGroup of Colleges first started at Brecon Beacons College as a student. Romina, a mature student at the time, studied a BTEC level 3 in Business in 2011 under the close guidance of course lecturers Rob Flower and Mark Hughes.  

Award-Winning College Makes School Leavers Awards Final Again

The nominations are in, and for the second year running @NPTCGroup of Colleges has been shortlisted for the #SchoolLeaverAwards 2020  The School Leaver Awards celebrate the top employers and training providers for school leavers on apprenticeship programmes. It is the largest ranking of employers that offer the best apprenticeship and school leaver opportunities in the UK, and, crucially, helps young people and their influencers make key decisions about their career.

How NPTC Group of Colleges Changed my Life

Five years ago, I was jobless, penniless and homeless #FEsavedME  My husband and I moved overseas in 2004, where I home-schooled my three daughters. Due to circumstances, in 2014 I was compelled to return to Wales – jobless, penniless, homeless and hopeless. I stayed with family and friends and found various part-time jobs. I was on medication for back pain and depression – it was the lowest point of my life.

As @NPTCGroup temporarily moved to online learning last week, staff and students have been coming together remotely to find new and innovative ways to continue learning and complete work and to challenge and stretch each other.

Working in Welsh – NPTC Group of Colleges Wins Top Award

@NPTCGroup has been awarded the highly prestigious ‘Work Welsh Award 2020: Employer of the Year’ by Learn Welsh – part of Welsh Government. The College has been part of the Work Welsh Further Education scheme since 2017, with around 850 members of staff following Welsh language training.
