University Campus Barnsley (UCB) Acting for Touring Theatre students invite the public to their performances of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible.

Students will take to the stage for their first show of this academic year at the Electric Theatre on Tuesday 13, Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 November at 2.00pm and 7.00pm.

Written in the 1950s when the fear of communism gripped America, The Crucible is a devastating portrayal of the human cost of tyranny and vengeance. The play is a fictitious dramatisation of the Salem witch trials and follows the story of the accused women of Salem.

Peter Lawton, HE Pathway Leader for Media, Music and Performing Arts at UCB, said:

“Although written in 1953, Arthur Miller’s drama holds particular significance in the current political environment, as we’ve found during rehearsals for our new production. Our very talented actors have worked incredibly hard to do this great play justice and they truly deserve your support.”

Tickets for both productions are available now at www.ticketsource.co.uk priced from £2 to £5.
